What Causes Severe Pain In The Thigh While On Crestor?
I was taking crestor (robustatin) for fivr months and now have severe pain in the back of y right thigh. The pain is about the size of a softball. Am on warafin for blood clotting and have factor 5 Leiden... Drs tried ibuprofen. gabapentin, oxycodone no relief....Neurologists thinks its a sciatic nerve problem...Physical therapist has me walking with a walker to take weight off the muscle to give it a chance to heal....I m at a loss since it is not going away...I started the crestor in August 2016 and I started with the pain January 3....I quit the medication on March 27....At suggestions??
You should know that your symptoms could be related to Crestor adverse effects or a muscular bleeding related to Warfarin.
For this reason, I would recommend performing a lumbar spineCT scan to exclude possible intramuscular bleeding or a disc bulging.
INR levels are necessary too.
I would also recommend checking muscular and liver enzymes (CPK, ALT, AST, LDH). If these enzyme levels are increased, stopping Crestor would be a reasonable choice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
