What Causes Severe Pain In The Tailbone After A Fall?

Hello. 4 days ago I fell and lost my balance and hit my tailbone on the edge of a metal chair. The pain level has been at a 7 and over the past 24 hours the pain is radiating down my right leg and my bottom of my foot is numb and tingling. I cannot sit for more that a few moments and not straight up. Should I go to the emergency room?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having history of trauma and injury over coccyx...

Here pain could be by muscle soreness secondary to trauma but you have difficulty in movement as well as feeling numbness ....

Hence fracture, nerve compress etc has to be ruled out

Local part x ray done and if doctor feels than MRI should be done and accordingly further management planned

Take care

Consult orthopedic surgeon for examination and further work accordingly
