What Causes Severe Pain In The Shoulder?

I have significant pain in my shoulder, with occasional pain in the upper arm. The pain seems to be exacerbated with anterior motion.The pain is also increased during sleep. The pain is also increased while seated when there is a load on my scapular region. This leads to significant pain in the shoulder.

Hello. This may be a bursitis problem but it could also be rotator cuff tendon entrapment syndrome so you need an MRI scan of the shoulder to check that out. Either problem can be treated with proper physical therapy and sometimes a cortisone injection
