What Causes Severe Pain In The Neck And Shoulder?

I have had severe neck and shoulder pain for 10 months now and the cervical MRI scan revealed I have a prolapsed disc in c5/6?and a bulge in 6/7 the said the scan showed no impingement of root nerves. They have now sent me for another scan as I m displaying neuropathic symptoms and discolouration and trembling of left hand?? Could the first scan missed something?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a neurosurgeon and get evaluated. It might be cervical spondylitis or due to disc prolapse. As of now you can take analgesics like acetaminophen or tramadol for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
