Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back, Hands And Legs?
My husband does not sleep well. He has a Bi-Pap and has for many years. He has pain in his legs, feet, hands and arms as well as lower back pain. It comes night and day off and on. It is VERY PAINFUL. No one seems to be able to tell him why. He is on dialysis 3 days a week for 3 1/2 hours but that doesn t seem to be the problem. His blood pressure goes down to 80 and sometimes as low as 60 or 61 while on the machine. Is this all related?
Low blood volume – this happens when we have to take a large amount of fluid off during your dialysis treatment. The most common cause of this is drinking a lot of fluid between dialysis treatments. It can also happen if, for any reason, you did not get all of your excess fluid off at the previous dialysis session. Check problem with salts in the blood. Check your electrolytes and hemoglobin status. Stop if you're suffering from severe cramps.
Please consult your physician, he will examine and do serum electrolytes, then treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
