What Causes Severe Pain In The Knees After Meniscus Reconstruction Surgery?
Hi. I had ACL and meniscus reconstruction surgery a little over a year ago. But today I was walking and felt a sharp shooting pain originating from my knee. I can walk on it and passively bend and straighten. But if I actively try to straighten my leg, the shooting pain is back. Is there a possibility I re-injured my ACL or meniscus? Or could it just be irritated from over use (I ve been working out a lot lately)?

What Causes Severe Pain In The Knees After Meniscus Reconstruction Surgery?
Hello, Shooting pain is not associated with ACL or meniscal injury or surgery. Shooting pain may be due to injury or irritation of the nerves around the knee joint. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
