Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Joints Of The Hips?
Does involuntary, searing pain near the inside of hip joint (radiates to inside of thigh) -- pulsing at intervals unrelated to usage, suggest sciatic . . . or perhaps an internal infection from a small blood clot? There is no visual presentation of swelling or discoloration. Thank you so much for any guidance you may be willing to provide.
In case of sciatic the pain extends from the lower back all the way to the thigh and down to the leg, the pain may also extend to the foot or toes. If you have these type of pain you may have sciatica. But there are other causes of hip pain which could be arthritis, injuries of soft tissues like tendons and muscle around the hip or coxarthrosis which means the destruction of the cartilage existing in the hip joint. In some cases the pain caused by the injuries of the knee irradiates to the hip joint and to the thigh which can lead to the missing of the right diagnosis.
I suggest that you have a visit to a Rheumatology specialist for orthopaedic examination and to do some x-rays.
Hope I answered your question Wish you a speedy recovery Best regards Dr. Noor Farid
