What Causes Severe Pain In The Finger Nails?

Hi, my nail hurts when I press on it. I have an ingrown right now and I want to ask if it is hurting because of it. There is also a clear fluid oozing out of the side where the ingrown is, it is swelling but no wound that can be seen. My nail hurts when only pressed or if a bandaid is covered onto it. This is going on for a few days already. Is there a way to recover this at home? Thanks!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Yes, if you have an ingrowing nail, pressing on it can be painful. More so if there is an overt infection, even though mild. If a clear fluid is oozing, it may be best to do a sterile dressing on the nail with Mupirocin ointment till the inflammation subsides in a week or so. If recurrent inflammation occurs, then excision of the ingrowing part of the nail, with cauterization of the nail matrix should be done to prevent future regrowth of the ingrowing nail.
