What Causes Severe Pain In The Feet?

I am a dancer, and whenever I try to work on my point by doing exercises on the dot, a sudden and sharp pain happens around the outer and bottom of both of my feet, and then my feet freeze and cramp up for a few minutes, and it is then hard to walk. It has been going on for awhile now and I have dismissed it, but I brought it up with my ballet master and she said to consult online research and a doctor. SOS
