What Causes Severe Pain In The Chest?

I'm 28 years old and experiencing chest pain. It's located directly in the middle of my chest. It's a mild pain that was persistent about two hours ago but kind of comes and goes in waves now. I would normally consider it heartburn but I've never had it to this extent or for this length of time. Should I go to the er?

You have problem of severe chest pain that may be because of acidity problem.Acidity of stomach may cause hearburn problem.

You mention that you have severe chest pain that one may be cardiac or lung related problem.

As soon as possible consent a physician.
Proper history and physical examination give exact idea.

Complete blood cell count and chest x ray is helpful for further diagnosis.
