What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Back?

hello, for the past few weeks I ve had a dull ache running down from my neck onto the back of my shoulder blade and then 3 days ago I awoke with a sharp, severe pain in my lower back. mainly in one spot over my right side buttock. the pain goes across my hips and I cant pull myself up forward without severe pain. I can roll or lay on my side with no pain.

Hello

The pain in neck running down to shoulder is most probably due to muscle stiffness.

The pain in lower back at point over hip suggest a lumbar disc prolapse causing nerve root compression.
I think a MRI lumbar spine will help to diagnose this.

Anyhow, you must keep your posture correct.

If you have to work for long hours in sitting position, i would suggest you take a walk around in your chamber after every 30-40minutes.

Do hot compresses. Take a pain killer medicine or apply pain killer ointment over back.

Consult a physiotherapist and learn back strengthening exercises.

Thanks
