My 5 year old son has been complaining of his left leg from the knee down hurting every morning until the afternoon. He limps on it all day at school and says sometimes it really hurts and sometimes it doesn t but he continues to limp. I took him to the doctor and they did an xray that came back normal. The doctor then said to just have him prop it up after school and put an ice pack on it and if after 2 more weeks if its still hurting him she would make a referral to an orthopedic specialist. I wasnt satisfied with that so I insisted on blood work as a friend of mine said her son had similar symptoms of leg pain along with nose bleeds and he was diagnosed with leukemia. My son has also had nose bleeds, not a lot but about 8 over the last few months. His first nose bleed was in November. My question is whether this type of leg pain is a common symptom of leukemia and/or what else could be causing it?
