Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In Left Hip After A Injury?
I had a bad fall last night. I landed on my left hip. Pain has gotten gradually worse. I am able to walk but not without considerable pain. Just pain in the butt or could I have broken something and still be able to walk. Not my tailbone. It s too far to the left.
Usually, we do recommend limitation in movements after such fall or accidents for the first few days. So, better limit your movements. Apply anti-inflammatory med locally. Take oral pain killer. Apply cold compresses for the first 72 hours after the fall, then, alternating warm and cold compresses. If still no improvement, should see orthopedic specialist and run x-ray and MRI of the hip bone to rule out more serious complications.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
