What Causes Severe Pain In Knee Radiating Up And Down The Whole Leg?

My pain started on the left side of my left knee. Its now spread all around the knee except the back side. The pain is constant, and it swells up a lot. The pain sometimes goes up to a 10 but never below an 8. It hurts so bad that sometimes it goes up and down my whole leg. I am 53 years old and a 100% disabled vet. I have no idea how it got this way. My doc had imaging done a couple of days ago. I also have a right fractured foot (Jones) so getting around has been hard. Do you have any idea what happened to my left knee? Also, what would be taken care of first? My knee or foot?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

May be lesser activity of the limb has caused inflammation and knee swelling. You have to take care both of the things together to keep your limb working. You can join a physiotherapist to help you and consult your physician for medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
