What Causes Severe Pain In Joints While On Detoxification?

Hi i just recent quit drinking alcohol went to a detox facility and all my stress and anxiety level are still pretty bad and within the past week i have been expierncing severe joint pain in my knees up to my hips not to mention farting like crazy i would assume its alcohol related considering i was drinking a fifth to a liter of whiskey a day for over a year

Alcohol consumption can easily cause gasteic irritation and the development of conditions like gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, etc. So the discontinuation of alcohol can also trigger the symptoms of a possible underlying condition, speak to your doctor about the same to initiate treatment with antacids and lifestyle modification.

As for the stress and anxiety, this is to be expected and I would recommend you to go ahead with counseling sessions which should be part of any detox regimen. Speak to your doctor, who shall help guide you through this healthy and hopefully life changing process.
