What Causes Severe Pain In Hands While On Levaquin?
Hi I had a tummy tuck ion June 10th and I developed a b strep bacteria they put me on leviquin a generic form I was on it for 4 days and my hands hurt like they were bruised and swollen, I had sores in the corners of my mouth so they took me off the pills. How can I tell if the b strep gets in by blood stream its such a worry
You should keep your treating doctor informed of all your past illness, allergy & medications you have been taking.
Levaquin has no such indication but if you have any peripheral artery disease you should not take Levofloxacin because the medication affects the CNS & may cause serious side effects.
You are suggested to visit a Neurologist & get Nerve conduction tests done so that the treatment can be started at the earliest in case of positive reports.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
