What Causes Severe Pain In Chest After Being Punched?
Hi im a boxer and in sparing two weeks ago i was punched very hard by a much bigger guy in the middle of my chest ever since then iv hard alot of pain. When i cough the the pain is unbearable and also when im led down i cant turn around or nove with out pain i also have really bad pains when standing back up. There is no bruising visable however the pain has not eased ever since should i be worried or wot shall i do to stop the pains. Thank you

And following are the complications of it that can cause pain on breathing and coughing. 1. Rib and sternumfracture. 2. Pulmonary contusions 3. Pneumothorax 4. Musculoskeletal injury. So better to get done chest x ray first. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for major complications. You are mostly having musculoskeletal injury. So avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain and bad postures in sleep. Apply warm water pad on affected site. Start painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
