Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Hope that you re having a good Friday. I have a brief question and am trying to find the right place to go for an idea to what I may have. I have been to 2 foot doctors already that cannot explain the cause of my symptoms. Both of my feet are feeling excruciating pain that emulate from my big toe. One would instantly assume gout, but the appearance does not resemble that of gout. My big toes are both red and the redness spreads and then fades into the rest of my foot. Small bumps have appeared and are very itchy in the isolated areas on my toes where the redness stems from. 3/4 of the distal portion of my toe nails are black while the remaining 1/4 medial portion still looks pink and healthy. I am currently looking for a 3rd opinion in my area and I m located in northern Idaho so a third opinion will take a moment to find that it is w/in a reasonable distance of my location. Might there be any ideas that I could present to the next doctor that I see of what might be the cause of what I have described? Thank you for your time. Adam
It might be due to inflammatory causes like arthritis or gout. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
