What Causes Severe Pain And Popping In Inner Elbow?

Hello,My arm was fully extended and i was moving it forward and it was jerked back the opposite direction. I felt a severe pain an pop on the inside crease of my elbow as well as shooting in to my bicep and forearm. Now I can move it in certain directions but rotating my lower arm with my thumb on top is extremely painful. If I apply pressure on top of my hand with the thumb on top and push against it is the same pain. Please help. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the severe pain and popping in the inner elbow indicates possible issue with:
- Inflammation of medial epicondyle as medial epicondylitis
- Ligament sprain or strain
- Cartilage damage or repair

After thorough clinical examination, range of movements and active, passive way, I would recommend an X-ray or MRI of the elbow region for final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
