What Causes Severe Pain And Numbness In The Forearm And Hand?

The last few evenings, I have been experiencing severe pain and numbness in the forearm and hand. Once I am up and out of bed, the pain subsides. I don t think it is heart attack related, as I still am able to do my daily cardio and weight training with no discomfort. I am Type II diabetic, and take med s for blood pressure. I truly experience no discomfort shortly after standing upright. Your thoughts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I have gone through the problem given in your query.
I am of the opinion that you are suffering from the symptoms caused by a pinched nerve in the neck region.
Use thin pillow and matteress,
Take some NSAID Pain killer like Naproxen.
If symptoms persist you may have to seek a doctor' s consultation for possible use of Amitryptiline or Gabapentine.
A neck collar can also be effective.
Kindly give your feefback if convinced with the advice.
