What Causes Severe Pain After Knee Surgery And Fluttering Feeling In Upper Legs?

Yes, thank you. I am having currently waiting to have surgery on my left knee. I am in a lot of pain, as my knee is bone on bone. I have noticed in the last couple of days that I have been getting a fluttering feeling in my upper legs. I have a sister who passed from a blood clot and I am wondering if you happen to know what this might be?

Hello,

Your symptoms are not suggestive of a blood clot in the legs. I would just recommend moving your legs as much as you can or wearing compressive socks if you have prolonged sitting or lying down position in order to prevent blood clotting.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
