What Causes Severe Menstrual Bleeding And Cramps After Taking Prednisone?

HELLO. i HAVE HAVE BEEN RECEIVING ALLERGY SHOTS FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS. I TAKE ZANTAC 150MG PO BID, XYZOL 10MG QDAY, AND SINGULAR 10 MG QDAY. DESPITE ALL THESE MEDS I DEVELOPED FULL BODY HIVES AND SEVERE ITCHING. I TOOK 18 DAYS OF PREDNISONE. THEN I ENDED UP IN THE ER WITH SEVERE MENSTRUAL CRAMPS AND FOUND OUT MY HGB IS 9.7. MY PERIODS HAVE BECOME A LITTLE HEAVIER OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS. THEY ARE SHORTER AND THERE IS ONLY ONE DAY THAT I BLEED HEAVILY FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. I FEEL TIRED AND NOW ANXIOUS BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON.

Hello,

It is not related to prednisone. As a first line management, you can take drugs like mefenamic acid for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.
