Is it normal to have extreme leg cramps while taking TPN? it starts after about 6 hours and moves p my legs. I have to use Absorbine Jr. to stop them. I put it on my ankles nd it stops. I go back to sleep and wake about an hour later with cramping in my calves. I use the ointment, go back to sleep, and wake to cramping in both inner thighs. I ve been told to take vitamin E to prevent them. this confuses me because I was told recently that we aren t supposed to take vitamin E. it s supposedly bad for the heart. I have MS, which complicates things even further. Please help.
