What Causes Severe Knee And Leg Pain While On Steroids And Antibiotics?
I have just had a virus, they think, that ended up with acute asthma. I was given steroids and antibiotics but unfortunately it reocccured after 3 lots of steroids. In hospital I then had steroids through iv and was released with 8 prednisone over 5 days. On the 4th night I woke with terrible knee and leg pains. I have had this for the last 4 days. The pain is very very severe at times and I got no sleep at all. Can you let me know if this is a reaction to steroids and also how long will this continue for.
Hi Thanks for positng on HCM Steroid shots may not give you severe knee pain, rather, it may help to treat such conditions.Since no history of trauma, osteoarthritis/arthritis should be eliminated.I will suggest you try the following: -Take an anti-inflammatory pain drug like aceclofenac -A myorelaxant like miorel -Massage with a local pain gel like voltarene If pain persist, you see the Doctor for examination. Hope this will help Wish you good health
