I have severe itching of the lower extremities. I was diagnosed and treated as having scabies, could the itching be from something else? No one else in my home has been diagnosed with scabies and I have done all the recommended cleaning and treatments for all in the home, myself 3 times. This has been an ongoing issue for months. I was first told I had contact dermatitis and was given Medrol dose-pak and Kenalog injection. This helped tremendously and it was almost completely gone, then came back with a vengeance. I was referred to a Dermatologist who said contact derm also, but did perform two punch method biopsies, she gave me triamcinolone cream and then a t return appointment said that she disagreed with the test results, but that they showed scabies. She then scraped the skin and said yes it was scabies. This has been an ongoing issue for about six months. I am a Caucasian female, 56 yrs of age 5 2 250lbs. I take omeprazole 20mg, losartan 50mg, hctz 15mg, escitalopram 10mg and two ASA 81mg daily. I have high cholesterol but can not tolerate any of the meds for it. I have had a total abdominal hysterectomy, surgery for an ovarian cyst, a fine needle aspiration of breast cyst. Mom died of lung cancer at 50, and only sister of breast cancer at 34, Dad had colon cancer, heart attack and non insulin dependent diabetes. Thank you for your time
