What Causes Severe Heart Burn Along With Vomiting Up Of Brown Sputum?

I just had heart burn that was bad but not too insane and I felt the urge to vomit for about an hour then I lied down and vomitted dark brown/morone/dark red blood looking stuff it s flakey and looks similar to the coffee vomit stuff I just googled. I m Home alone with no access to a phone am I going to be ok??? I still have heart burn and only vomited twice...I am very pale and scared :( 21 yr old female x

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as acid reflux disease also known as GERD . It occur when upper sphincter of esophagus allow the acidic content of stomach to come into esophagus .

This is the reason for heart burn and dark colored saliva .

I would suggest you to :-

- Eat light meals specially before going to bed .

- Avoid spicy and fatty meals for some days .

- Take antacid (gelusil) after meal to neutralize the acidic content .

Consult gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis with the help of endoscopy and X-ray of digestive system.

Doctor may prescribe drugs like omeprazole and ranitidine .
