What Causes Severe Headache Post Head Injury?

About a week ago I hit the right side of my head right above my forehead / hair line really hard, it hurt really bad but no bruising or swelling, never thought much of it. Until now, Today it is very tender and I have a head ache throbbing where I hit it. Is it just coincendence or should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear!
Welcome to HCM, thank you for sharing your concerns with us on this website. I'm trying to give you my opinion about your medical history and help you as much as possible.

Tenderness or/and swelling after a hit is a normal response of organism, after a trauma. Pain is a normal situation too.
But we can't be sure if nothing has happened to your head unless we have a medical prove that everything is alright.

I mean you have to go through a x-ray examination or Head CT-scan to evaluate the integrity of your head bones. If no damages are found than it will be gone gradually and only some painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, diclofenac) may be taken to remove the symptoms.

I wish you have a good health!
Take care!
DR ERIOL.
