What Causes Severe Headache And Numbness In The Right Hand?

My husband, 75 yrs old, has been in good healthrelatively. But last two weeks has had an icepick headache in the left rear superior quadrant of his head, waking him up at night. Before that he began havong right hand numbness, tingling, nerve and muscle spasming on a nearly continuous basis. Aneurysm has been ruled out by a. PA who ordered two MRIs for tomorrow, one brain, one neck. Dizziness and loss of balance today. What is suspect? Tumor? Spinal chord impingement in neck?
