Hello, Both Rosuvastatin and Lipitor are statins and do have the same side effects so if one causes a problem the other is also likely to do the same. Stomach irritation is a very rare side effect of these drugs and generally they are well tolerated. They both can cause kidney problems in a few patients. Using them is important to prevent the development of the atherosclerotic plaques and ischemic heart problems but their effect is in the long run. This means losing a few days of treatment will not largely affect her so if she is going to see the heart doctor within a week or two she can as well not take them till she has met her doctor.
