Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a question I ve been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in 2007 and took a 6 month treatment of tapazole. I was feeling really tired and dead in bed feeling after taking this prescription I felt like I was back well. I haven t taken none since and I can tell it came back should take the treatment longer. My question what u reccomended if started this treatment again and should I use the same dosage.
Hi there! Since you stopped Tapazole the symptoms returned. That's because your thyroid hormone levels must have risen again. The decision to restart and at what dosage needs to be done after checking the thyroid hormone and TSH levels. Therefore my advice to you would be to first get the Thyroid profile done since its been 6 months now and then consult your physician or endocrinologist to decide the further course of therapy. Thyroid hormone disorders cause a lot of chaos in the way most things function in the body and its very important to follow up properly. Also because the treatment is fairly simple and overall health improves significantly. Hope this helps.
