Hi & Welcome.
It is due to
hypotension caused by drug to drug interactions.
Diltiazem is a
calcium channel blocker and Enalapril is an
angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor. These drugs are commonly used to treat high BP.
Tamsulosin is a selective alfa1 receptor blocker mainly used in the treatment of benign prostatic enlargement and also for high BP.
Diltiazem when taken along with Tamsulosin may increase the blood levels and effects of Tamsulosin. This can cause BP to fall excessively and heart rate to increase, especially while standing from a sitting or lying position.
The risk of other side effects such as dizziness,
lightheadedness, fainting, headache, flushing,
nasal congestion, heart palpitations, and priapism may also increase.
He may need a dose adjustment or to stop taking Tamsulosin till you consult his FD.
Hope this will help your father to get relief.
