What Causes Severe Fatigue Along With Increased Perspiration?

I am a 52YOWM and I am feeling extreme fatigue and increased perspiration. I work 3 - 12 hour shifts in a row and spend three straight days unable to get off the couch and to fight constant naps throughout the day. I rode a bike in excess of 50 - 80 miles last year but developed a perineal abscess that required surgery and never rode again. I am very fortunate to work beside my PCP at the hospital and have scheduled a complete physical with him in May. Do any of you have any thoughts as to what condition this is likely to be? Thank You

Hello,

The following are few conditions where there is extreme fatigue with perspiration:
1) Lowered blood glucose
2) Lowered blood pressure
3) Severe dehydration
4) Sunstroke
5) Electrolytes imbalance
6) Infections

Mostly you might be having diabetes leading to lowering of glucose in blood and this severe fatigue and sweating. The following investigations are necessary:
1) Fasting and post prandial blood glucose
2) hbA1c
3) Blood pressure monitoring
4) Serum electrolytes
5) Complete blood picture
6) Differential leukocyte count
7) Peripheral smear.

Please do consult your PCP and discuss the above points.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
