What Causes Severe Dryness In Mouth And Mild Ear Pain?

I keep waking up with a an extremely dry mouth and throat Last week had a slight ear ache and was sore down the left side of my neck just behind the ear and it was tender to touch and made my ear hurt but I have been suffering this awful dryness for quite some time, could it be an allergy do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
recurrent throat infections may also be caused due to middle ear infection.
As your history suggest more of middle ear pathology.
I would recommend to consult a ENT specialist, and to get work up (i.e tuning fork test, audiogram) to rule out middle ear pathology.
As most of the ear pathology are treatable, kindly get intervention done at earliest.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
