What Causes Severe Dizziness Along With Pain And Numbness In The Legs?
My wife is 85years old and has chronic unbalance feelings. All tests had been done including MRI scans X-rays etc as well as investigations at dizziness clinic. No definite answers! Last year she had a fall at home landing on her side. The tests showed that she had significant OA esp the cervical spines. She had lumbar nerve decompression surgery 7 years ago and still has occasional pain in her legs and some numbness. Now she is diagnosed with C567 nerve entrapment causing pain and numbness and clumsiness of her right hand.. She had physio including neck traction and acupuncture and Elavil as well as Tylenol for the pain. It is suggested that she may try the neurotrophic B1 6 12 Neurobion by Merck. Please advise if this is worth a try? Many thanks,

What Causes Severe Dizziness Along With Pain And Numbness In The Legs?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You may be suffering from cervical spondylosis with Lhermitte s phenomenon. Which may cause weakness or giddiness, also check for other possibilities like stroke or BPPV or muscle imbalance etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Continue physical therapy and neck traction, use b12 injections and it may not cause any side effects. Please consult your neurophysician to you please examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
