What Causes Severe Dehydration And Low BP?

Hi, I m a 41yr old woman&having a pulse rate of 117 for the past couple hours. Yet I ve been at rest the whole time. Yesterday I was severely dehydrated with a bp of 74/44 at the beginning then taking 3 hours to rehydrate myself. Could this be some kind of after effect? Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
There are multiple causes of high pulse rate, low BP is one of them.
Also Low BP can be caused by a variety of reasons like dehydration, low blood sugar, heart disease, septicemia etc
Have you worked in humid environment or had severe vomiting or diarrhea?
these are the 2 commonest causes of dehydration.
Had you eaten anything before you checked your BP. Low blood sugar is one of the commonest causes of low BP.
I recommend getting your blood sugar checked, and visit a doctor.

Hope this answers your question, thank you.
