I have a sudden severe cramping (feels just like a muscle cramp -- grabbing and balling up) just belw my right rib cage. It is agrevated if i bend over. It comes on suddenly with no warning. I am a healthy 64 year old female, no appendix, exercise daily, no unusual activity. This has happened several times in the past few months with no warning. I do have a nagging back ache on the same side.
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns. For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? Are u running fever? Any other lymph node swelling in ur body? any history of trauma or gallstones? Based upon your history it is rather difficult to pinpoint the diagnosis. if i am ur attending doctor i will get ur FBC ESR CRP abdominal ultrasound scan as well as CHEST x ray too. In the light of these tests i will be able to offer you any treatment. probable diagnosis are costochondritis , gall stones or gastritis..etc meet your doctor so that u can be examined and investigated properly
Meanwhile stay calm and use OMEPRAZOLE 40mg daily before breakfast Get well soon Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
