What Causes Severe Cervical Dysplasia?

I just received a call from my doctor who performed a colposcopy and he that said my test results indicate I have severe cervical dyplasia and he scheduled a LEEP procedure. I know there were question I wanted to ask, but I was so shocked and frightened I didn t ask anything, except for What time? Could you please tell me a little about what this is and what it means... Dysplasia means distortion of normal mucus layer. It is actually a first thing happens in any cancer. So presence of Dysplasia is suggestive of early cancer. Prognosis is excellent because we have picked cancer at early stage. So no need to worry much. You will be alright.
