Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed a bad bruise on my arm about a week ago. I have no idea how it got there. There is also a lump under the bruise which is a little sore when I put pressure on it. Where the lump is the bruise is a lighter color. Is this something I should be alarmed about? If not, how long does it usually take for a lump to go away?
Very likely this is something self-limiting. You can put warm compresses locally to help the bruise and the lump heal quicker. Avoid local massage or local trauma. Normally it should fade within 1-2 weeks. If it lasts more than 2 weeks or is getting any worse or you notice any other lesions somewhere else you will need a visit with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
