Hi, I tend to schedule a visit with a GI soon however I was looking for a possible cause of what may be causing my extreme bloating that has gotten worse over the past 4 weeks and gets worse each time I eat, more gas than usual, pain during intercourse and occasional cramps.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. The possible causes of bloating that is getting worst over the past 4 weeks and getting worse after eating, more gases, painful intercourse and occasional cramps may be as follows: Intestinal obstruction. Intestinal infection. Pelvic inflammatory disease. This can be diagnosed by the following: Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon and a Gynecologist. X-ray of the abdomen in standing position. Ultrasonography of abdomen and CT scan of abdomen is required for confirmation. Tests of blood, stool and urine. All these things will lead to a proper diagnosis so that a proper management can be done. If the cause is infection or so, a course of an antibiotic can help the most. If the cause is surgical like obstruction or ovarian cyst or so surgery may be required.
