What Causes Severe Bleeding During Pregnancy?

Hi, a friend of mine did a medical abortion using pills and she has been bleeding clots after the procedure. She was 7 weeks pregnant and was not on any prevention pills. She has changed 11 pads in last 15 hours.. Do you think it s safe/ normal to bleed this way?? Can u recommend any meds she can take to avoid the iron deficiency and to stop the bleeding??

Hi...Can understand your concern...As per your query about severe bleeding after using abortion pills for a seven weeks pregnancy....It is not normal to bleed like this and you should take it as an emergency situation and consult a gynaecologist as this much bleeding can lead to hypovolemia and shock or like situation....It can be due to incomplete abortion or other related disorders and you should take the pills under supervisionof any gynaecologist..Investigation ultrasonography will be needed and treatment willbe done accordingly .I hope the information helps you.Take care.
