What Causes Severe Back Pain When Diagnosed With Osteoarthritis?

I am a 66 year old female and retired. I have lower to upper back pain whenever I do anything standing up, especially sweeping and mopping or similar activities. When I sit for a few minutes the pain goes away. It is irritating mentally because it takes longer to do the things I used to do. I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and take meds for it. Your thoughts on this.
