What Causes Severe Anxiety?

I m a 70 year old woman in excellent health. I ve been increasingly anxious driving over the last two years. I ve started taking Zolof about 3 weeks ago. I ve always been comfortable driving and usually calm and confident in general. Now I m nervous and jumpy most of the time. This is the only medication I take. Could something else be going on?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Anxiety is a multi factorial issue and there can be
- underlying stress
- inadequate sleep
- BP alterations
- social stigmas
- personality changes
- Others.

I recommend a detailed counselling with an expert psychiatrist to evaluate the possible etiology of the anxiety and treat accordingly rather than simply taking Zoloft.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
