What Causes Severe Anxiety And Appetite Loss While On Zoloft?

I have been on Zoloft 25 mg for about 1 year. I went to my doctor s office telling him I was feeling a lot of anxiety and feeling jittery. He increased my dosage to 100 mg. Now I m having all kinds of problems. Am I supposed to take 50 mg of Zoloft for a few weeks, then increase it to 100 mgs? I m feeling very anxious, no appetite, shaky, etc. I think going from Zoloft 25 mg to 100 mg is too strong. Would you agree?

Hi, thanks for your question.

Although the shakiness, poor appetite, and anxiety are all side effects of zoloft, the dose increment was a bit sharp, 25mg to 50mg to 100mg would have been more appropriate. However, do not discontinue the drug without consulting your doctor.
