Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having URQ abdominal pain for about 2 or 3 weeks. Seems to get worse after I eat. I do not have an appendix or gallbladder. My husband had a bout of shingles approximately 1 month ago. Could this be some form of shingles? if not what else?
Hi, I appreciate your concern. If a patient with such symptoms comes to my clinic, my first suspicion would not be shingles. I would rather think about the possibility of Peptic ulcer disease or Duodenal ulcer diseases. I would suggest that the patient take antacids and proton pump inhibitors for a few days and accordingly see the result. I would like to know whether you have already done an ultrasound of the abdomen as you said that you dont have appendix or gall bladder. Please feel free to interact if any further queries.
