What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain Along With Sweating And Nausea?

I am trying to determine if I need to go to urgent care. I am a 29 year old female and this afternoon I awoke from a nap with sudden and severe lower abdominal pain. Within about 30 seconds I was dripping with sweat, weak, clammy, and extremely nauseous as well. I made it to the bathroom and while on the toilet vomited on the floor because I was too weak to make it to the sink. Stumbled over to the bed to lay on my abdomen and was screaming because the pain was so severe. It was sharp, pulsating, burning, and constant for about 25 minutes. I swallowed 2 tylenol and the pain gradually subsided over 2 hours but in a weird way - it would go away for 10 sec and then come back, then go away for 30 sec and come back, until now it is much less but still present. I am still very weak and nauseous, despite taking more tylenol. This has happened to me numerous times in the past at random intervals (right now every 6-9 months). In the past it has happened around the time of my period (either just before or at onset), and because of that it has been disregarded by previous doctors as dysmenorrhea, even though I KNOW these are not menstrual cramps. Though in a similar area, they are MUCH more severe and unbearably painful. The most painful episodes I ve ever experienced, and they are unpredictable. The only pattern I ve found is that they tend to happen during times when I am very stressed.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal pain along with sweating and nausea . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like food poisoning , food allergy , infection of digestive system , gas , acid reflux , stomach flu or colic . You should take oral rehydration solution as well. I would suggest you to sips of water or other clear fluids on a very frequent basis. You should avoid solid foods for a few hours try small amounts of mild foods such as rice, applesauce and do not take foods or drinks caffeine , carbonated beverages , citrus and dairy products. If condition doesn't get better then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and get complete examination done. Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , antibiotics ,anaspas and antacid .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
