I am trying to determine if I need to go to urgent care. I am a 29 year old female and this afternoon I awoke from a nap with sudden and severe lower abdominal pain. Within about 30 seconds I was dripping with sweat, weak, clammy, and extremely nauseous as well. I made it to the bathroom and while on the toilet vomited on the floor because I was too weak to make it to the sink. Stumbled over to the bed to lay on my abdomen and was screaming because the pain was so severe. It was sharp, pulsating, burning, and constant for about 25 minutes. I swallowed 2 tylenol and the pain gradually subsided over 2 hours but in a weird way - it would go away for 10 sec and then come back, then go away for 30 sec and come back, until now it is much less but still present. I am still very weak and nauseous, despite taking more tylenol. This has happened to me numerous times in the past at random intervals (right now every 6-9 months). In the past it has happened around the time of my period (either just before or at onset), and because of that it has been disregarded by previous doctors as dysmenorrhea, even though I KNOW these are not menstrual cramps. Though in a similar area, they are MUCH more severe and unbearably painful. The most painful episodes I ve ever experienced, and they are unpredictable. The only pattern I ve found is that they tend to happen during times when I am very stressed.
