Hello As you mentioned that you were advised to take azithromycin +cefpoxime for 7 days . These both tablets are very good option for typhoid fever ( for its causative bacteria salmonella ) . But these drugs , produces some hyper acidity or gastritis ( as may in your case ) , so few patient develops gastritis and pain in epigastrium region ( as you are feeling ). So your doctor stopped this and advised cefixime+ oofloxacin combination ( topcef- O ) , this combination also good for typhoid fever. But this also produces gastritis . In such cases I advise to take some antacid but if abdominal pain is severe , to take pantoprazole-d once or twice in day till complete relief . The cause of concern is that still you are also having fever for 2 days . In my opinion consult another physician and get his opinion ( 2nd one ) also X ray chest. Hope this will help you.
