What Causes Sciatic Nerve Pain While On Atenolol, Chlorthalidone And Tenoret?

I was taking atenolol 50 mg daily to lower blood pressure. On October 6th 2016 my doctor added 12.5mg of the diuretic chlortalidone combined tablet known here as Teneret 50 mg taken daily. Since taking it I have developed terrible pain in my sciatic nerve area and thigh on left hand side of body. Also I feel bloated and genera loss of appetite due to the awful thumping burning pain in the lower back, buttock and thigh. Can I stop taking this combination tablet without adverse effects and return to the atenolol 50mg. I will of course consult my own doctor when he returns from holiday. Thank you

Hello,

No, you should not stop the treatment without prior consulting your treating doctor. Usually, they are not known to cause this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
