What Causes Scabs On The Scalp?

Hi I ve got a cluster of spots that turn into scabs on my head. I have looked all through my hair and there is no lice or anything in there, some spots are just dotted around on their own. I recently stayed in a tent so I m thinking it could have been the pillow??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You have probably developed seborrheic dermatitis. It happens due to the over production of sebum from the sebaceous glands. I treat such cases with a mild steroid shampoo like Fluocinolone, to be used daily for a month. For the nose, a steroid cream like Cortisone can be used with application daily. You can try these and let me know the results.

If possible, upload a photograph of the involved area. This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and provide a better way of management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
