What Causes Scabies With Patch Of Red Itchy Lumps?
I have been diagnosed with scabies but this has not responded to the usual lotion treatment (5times) or novo some cream. The rash is confined to a couple of areas and then moves to another area without reason and re-infests with a patch of red lumps and is itchy as hell. I can t seem to shake it off after 3 months. I had a tooth crown fitted over a root canal filled tooth (about a year ago) and have a small swelling in the last 3 months, at that tooth base and is sore, about the same time as the rash has appeared. Q: what can the rash be I m 61 pretty healthy had chicKen pox when I was little but not much else. Can the rash be related to the root canal work? Noel

When undergoing scabies treatment one has to also wash their clothes and dry them in sun...also to get your bedding clean and if possible one day exposure to sunlight as scabies mites may be living in clothes or beds which may lead to re-infestation.
All the house hold members have to take scabies treatment together even if they don't have any symptoms.
I would recommend you repeat the prescribed course of treatment for scabies along with above mentioned precautions.
It is unlikely to have symptoms like yours due to root canal treatment.
