What Causes Saline Water Discharge From Nose?

Hi, I hope you could help. I ve been frequently staying up late recently because of increasing school load. I m experiencing some salty watery substance coming out of my nose esp. when I bend over or after I drink a glass full of water. I ve never had this before and I notice it s getting more frequent. My eyes water up too esp. when I lay sideways in bed at night. I live in a tropical country so I drink a lot of liquids. It s getting worse lately because unlike before, it flows a lot more that it could already form droplets and fall like that on the floor. I never had allergies or any problem with my nose. Please I need help. Thanks

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to a lacrimal gland dysfunction or a sinus issue. For this reason, I recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam and some tests: a sinus X ray study and a sinus endoscopic test. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
